Meet The Boss

The driving force and vibrancy of this exciting new company is largely attributable to two of our founding Directors.

Sam, head of Sales and Marketing is a lifelong sports fanatic. Away from his professional life he has spent more than 20 years in local league cricket in the North West.
 
Q. Are you a batsman or bowler?
A. An opening batsman and wicket-keeper. In my younger days (when I could field!) I also bowled leg-spin.
 
Q. What do you love most about cricket?
A. That beautiful feeling of willow on leather when you time the ball nicely and all your inner tensions suddenly disappear! The feeling of scoring a 50 is akin to scoring a hat-trick in football. It's a wonderful experience and I'm glad to have scored a few in my time! That elusive century still evades me though - the nearest I've got is to score 89 n.o. before our Captain declared! Grrrrrr!!
 
Q. And the worst aspect?
A. Getting out early! You have to spend a whole innings just watching!
 
Q. Any famous scalps?
A. Not really, but Waugh, Miandad, Mudassar, Irani, Donald have all played in our local leagues over the years.
 
Q. And finally, have you ever played against Sohail, your Co-Director?
A. Yes, I was batting quite well and on course for a decent score when......he ran me out without warning!
 
Sohail, Head of Finance and Co-Founder. A full time NHS Doctor and avid soccer fan.
 
Q. Sport and Medicine....What's the connection?
A. Teamwork, operating in adversity, doing the right thing - there's lots of overlaps actually.
 
Q. How do you get the time?
A. If you love sport it just sort of takes over! Day to day work is done by my other colleagues (sorry!)
 
Q. What have been your favourite moments of soccer?
A. For me - winning 6 consecutive finals with Hope Hospital football team! Or as a fan, I love drama - Man Utd's amazing late goals in '99 and Liverpool's heroic recovery in Istanbul for example.
 
And finally...
 
Q. Is it true you once ran Sam out in a cricket match?
A. No. He was just too slow to get to the other end!
